Editing is a relationship built on good communication and a shared vision of your goals.

Copyediting: Here’s the deal…

I read your work line by line and…

  • correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • alert you when something isn’t clear or doesn’t seem to make sense
  • note redundancies and suggest alternative wording
  • ensure consistency in spelling, numbers, capitalization, names, and hyphenation
  • flag or reword jargon
  • smooth out awkward or confusing sentences
  • create a style sheet listing terms, character names, treatment of numbers, and so on for your manuscript
  • Fees are based on the size of your project

★★★★★

I’ve had the good fortune to work with Sheri Roque for two of my novels—The Water Column and The Lowering— both landing on Kirkus Review’s recommended list. This, in no small part, is due to Sheri’s keen editorial eye, catching and corralling prose when it wandered too far afield from grammatical and stylistic norms. I highly recommend her to anyone interested in working with a caring and consummate pro.
